Recent figures have confirmed that the UK has exceeded the five-year targets set by the UK’s Climate Change Act, and whilst there is much to be celebrated here, there is still a great deal of work to do. Surface transport is responsible for the highest of the UK’s carbon emissions and disappointingly the only sector where numbers are still rising. Sustainable travel must therefore be a priority, but realistically it also needs to be convenient.

This where APCOA’s end to end EV charge point management capabilities are making a significant difference, combining EV charging and parking with routine journeys and offering reliable facilities in areas of high population density. APCOA now manages over 750 EV charge points (both fast and ultra rapid) across multiple sectors including rail, health, education, hospitality, local government and airports with both on and off-street facilities.

APCOA’s full service offering spans solution architecture and installation through to friction free multiple payment options and handling, 24/7/365 manned customer service support and evaluation of usage data using APCOA’s analytics dashboard.

From two charge points at King William Car Park in Hull to 160 at Network Rail’s Reading station, every site counts and every sustainable journey supports APCOA’s own significant ESG commitments as well as contributing to the sustainable transformation of urban areas and the reduction of CO2 emissions.

The impact and success of our EV strategy has already gained recognition within the parking industry and beyond, winning three prestigious awards in 2023 and securing a place on key frameworks:
•    ‘EV Champion of the Year’ at the British Parking Awards
•    ‘EV Charging Award’ at the CiTTi Awards
•    ‘Partnership of the Year: APCOA & Network Rail EV Partnership’ at the National Sustainability Awards
•    Selected on key EV frameworks for Clients to access include Crown Commercial Framework, NEPO and Shared Business Services Framework (SBS).

With the strategic expansion of this sector and in partnership with clients across many areas of business, APCOA will continue to demonstrate its commitment to making our ecosystem as sustainable as possible.
