APCOA IS SECURITY CONSCIOUS AT LUTON AND DUNSTABLE (Archive)

/press-news/latest-news/article/apcoa-is-security-conscious-at-luton-and-dunstable-archive/

APCOA PARKING (UK) has been awarded a two-year contract extension to provide on going security and parking services for Luton and Dunstable University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

APCOA first took over the security operations and car park management at the Hospital on 1 September 2013 as part of a two-phase service implementation.  Six-and-a-half months later, APCOA assumed all parking enforcement across the hospital campus, which further strengthened its commercial parking services in the public healthcare sector.

Following a successful first-term at the Hospital, the NHS Foundation Trust has extended APCOA’s contractual term for the full two years, which formally commences on 1 September 2015.

The NHS Foundation Trust Hospital has invested heavily in new facilities at Luton and Dunstable, and is currently in the throes of a major £150m redevelopment, which will require careful logistical management around the campus.

Since APCOA assumed responsibility for the dual security and parking management, the Trust has substantially increased the number of parking provisions at the Hospital campus, as well as introducing new pay-on-foot and pay and display machines.

As testament to the dual service offering at Luton and Dunstable University Hospital, APCOA ranks within the top five per cent of service providers for the provision of security services in the UK.  It ensures that APCOA continues to promote and operate to the highest standards within the security industry.

APCOA TOPS THE SECURITY INDUSTRY PYRAMID (Archive)

/press-news/latest-news/article/apcoa-tops-the-security-industry-pyramid-archive/

APCOA PARKING (UK) has once again raised the bar in the security industry to leave other service providers in their wake.

Following the 2015 annual independent audit, APCOA has been again been named in the top five per cent of the Security Industry Authority’s (SIA) Approved Contractor Scheme.

Moreover, APCOA achieved its highest ever score (150),  which reaffirms the Company as a high quality security provider whose exemplary business standing has seen it converge at the top of the SIA’s illustrious contractors’ pyramid.

APCOA’s security activities, which are licensable under the SIA, were all assessed across randomly selected operational locations.  These comprised, among others: security guarding, and CCTV/public surveillance in Cardiff, and Luton and Dunstable University Hospital respectively.

It’s the fifth year that APCOA has been assessed by the Security Systems and Alarms Inspection Board (SSAIB), which is the specialist certification body affiliated with the Security Industry Authority – the governing body, and one that sees APCOA leapfrog over a plethora of dedicated security providers.

As a certification body, the SSAIB’s objective is to promote high standards of service within the security industry to ensure compliance to SIA standards/regulations.

The initial assessment is a full criteria assessment conducted every three years to ensure best practice/compliance. Upon successful completion, companies are assessed annually on a number of indicators which are randomly selected by the assessor.

There are a number of standards and business improvement models that exist, both internationally and in the UK.   The Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS) standard, however, is awarded to organisations that are committed to customer service and the compulsory licencing of their staff (where required) It also verifies that employment practices have been extensively assessed in respect of quality and best practice.

APCOA’s New Secure Low Cost Parking At Aberdeen Airport (Archive)

/press-news/latest-news/article/apcoa-s-new-secure-low-cost-parking-at-aberdeen-airport-archive/

APCOA PARKING (UK), which leads the way in the UK's airport parking services' sector, has today (1 July 2015) opened its first custom designed and built car park at Aberdeen Airport.

The 530-space surface car park off Wellhead Drive in Dyce now offers commuters secure low-cost parking 24 hours a day, along with a short complimentary shuttle bus service to and from the main terminal.

The barriered controlled facility has been modelled around the leisure market, as it enables consumers to park for as little as £3.99 a day if they pre-book just 10 days in advance. There's also a special £5.00 dispensation rate for offshore workers using one of the three heliports.

With high numbers of passengers passing through Aberdeen Airport each year, consumers now have the choice to pre-book their parking concession, or simply pay on foot on the day. This is made possible through the latest automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) camera technology, which has been installed to offer greater choice and expedite the customer journey.

While the car park aligns favourably with the guidance set by the British Parking Association, the facility is also fully-compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) 2005, so great consideration has been given to wheelchair access and Blue Badge holders. The facility is also in the throes of being audited by Police Scotland to receive the desired industry Park Mark accreditation, which promotes safer parking.

In addition to the lowest £3.99 parking tariff, APCOA is also be offering other incentives throughout the year to ensure that customers have less outlay and more money in their pockets when they travel abroad.

Customers can now pre-book their parking session online at www.parkanddepart.co.uk or via Facebook at www.facebook.com/parkanddepart.
